Who we are & what we do
“IF I SHOULD SELL BOTH MY FORENOONS AND AFTERNOONS TO SOCIETY, AS MOST APPEAR TO DO, I AM SURE THAT FOR ME THERE WOULD BE NOTHING LEFT WORTH LIVING FOr.” -THOREAU
We are just two restaurant industry lifers trying to share our love of food, wine, the outdoors and adventure. A deep passion for food and beverage motivated us to start a small garden plot on the sideyard of a backhouse and a rooftop garden for a restaurant. Which then led to hunting, fishing and foraging for magical, wild ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. This particular farming adventure began with a yearning for more space to call our own. In 2018 we packed up our compost and said goodbye to Portland. Now we are here, in beautiful Oregon wine country. Yesternight, our youngest daughter’s most endearing term for last night, was a labor of love and hardwork. Our farm began with a homestead garden and continues to grow every year. In 2020, motivated by the devastating effects of Covid-19 on the restaurant industry, we decided to pursue farming full time. Each season comes with new ideas for providing the community with food and products created in harmony with nature and with regard to leaving this special piece of earth better than we found it. At the moment, we are nurturing a small vineyard we planted to Chardonnay in 2019, an heirloom garden of fantastic, unique fruits and vegetables, and coming spring 2021- a cut flower garden! Making the most of everyday and Yesternight.
